GOTS stands for Global Organic Textile Standard. It is the leading certification for organic textiles worldwide. Where other certifications focus on the end product, GOTS covers the entire supply chain. From the field where the raw material grows to the label sewn into the garment.
why it matters.
Organically grown means nothing if the processing that follows doesn't hold up. A cotton plant grown without pesticides but dyed with harmful chemicals doesn't solve the problem. GOTS looks further. It sets requirements for cultivation, processing, production and working conditions. Every step in the chain must meet the standard, otherwise the certification doesn't hold.
For us, that's exactly how it should work.
what the certification covers.
